Matching and sorting are early math skills. It helps develop thinking skills and helps in identifying patterns, shapes and different relationships. This is demonstrated by an experienced teacher for pre-schoolers within the age group of 3 to 5 years.

This exercise of matching and sorting help children identify and discriminate between relationships and similarities. This skill is helpful to learn early representation and problem-solving. Matching and sorting can be good for developing fine motor skills too. You can do this activity with your child at home using any objects available at home, for example, clothes, plates, cups etc. (anything available at home).
